Local authority elections
Publication Date: Thu, 24 Apr 2008
It's the local authority elections today.
Residents can go to the polls in Douglas, Onchan and Braddan.
Polling stations are open from 8am to 8pm.
This is the first local authority election since Tynwald lowered the voting age to 16 in 2006.
There's been a series of radio adverts and leaflets distributed in schools and at the Island's college.
However, despite this, many young people we spoke to didn't seem to know elections were taking place.
