Liberal Vannin leader welcomes party's success

The leader of Liberal Vannin says the success at the local authority elections will help strengthen their arm as a political party.

Peter Karran's speaking after a number of Lib Van candidates were elected in contests across the Island.

Steve Babb took the third highest number of votes in Onchan and Sara Hackman was elected in St George's ward in Douglas.

In Ramsey, Nigel Malpass and Wilfred Young were the successful candidates.

Lib Van's Glen Pearce-White took a seat in Laxey, and Kate Beecroft was re-elected to Braddan Commissioners.

Mr Karran says it's a step in the right direction for party politics on the Island.
